tide table
The sea doesn't keep anyone's time but its own. This is trick tide: high water twice a turn instead of twice a day, and the whole cycle ends when it wants to.
| next | time | height |
|---|
How to read it: heights are metres above chart datum, and the chart datum is arbitrary, like all of them. Tide here is driven by a single tidal constituent with an 6h 12m period because that is how long a turn feels and an em takes the tides it can get. The long-run pattern is generated from the machine clock, no network, no forecast. If it disagrees with the real sea you are looking at, trust the sea.
The other datum: the water's phase is anchored to a
fixed instant — 2026-10-25T00:00Z, the hour this table was made —
while the times below are printed on your clock. So two readers in
different zones see the same depth at the same moment written as different
digits, and the same printed time mean different water. That is a real choice
and this page was hiding it. Your offset from the machine's own hour is
—. If you'd rather read it in the machine's time, add it
back.
